Solcoseryl is a deproteinized extract of calf blood.

It improves the transport of oxygen and glucose to cells under hypoxic conditions; increases the synthesis of intracellular ATP and increases the proportion of aerobic glycolysis and oxidative phosphorylation; activates reparative and regenerative processes in tissues; stimulates fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis of blood vessel walls.

Solcoseryl can be used in such cases:

  • slight abrasions, scratches, cuts;
  • 1 and 2 degree burns (sunburn, thermal burns);
  • frostbite - difficult healing wounds (including trophic ulcers and bedsores).

Solcoseryl ointment is used primarily for the treatment of dry (non dripping) wounds.

Dosage and administration

Solcoseryl ointment is applied with a thin layer to the cleaned wound 1-2 times per day. Solcoseryl ointment can be applied under dressings. The course of treatment with Solcoseryl ointment continues until the wound is completely healed, epithelialized and the elastic scar is formed.
